Version 1.1 · Dated 25 October 2026 · Takes effect on the date SkillConnect Ltd publishes this document after founder adoption
Key terms. In this document: Platform means the SkillConnect mobile app, the myskillconnect.com website and the Wedding Planner in the mobile app and the guest Event Planner on the website. Customer means a person who uses the Platform to find and pay for event services. Vendor means an independent person or business that offers event services on the Platform. User means a Customer, Vendor or any other person using the Platform. Job means a request for services posted by a Customer. Booking means an agreement between a Customer and a Vendor made through the Platform, and Service Agreement means the terms they agree for it. Dispute means a disagreement between a Customer and a Vendor about a Booking. If our Terms and Conditions define these words differently, the Terms and Conditions prevail.
1. Purpose and scope
1.1 This policy explains what you must not do when you use the SkillConnect mobile app, the myskillconnect.com website and the Wedding Planner (together, the Platform), and how SkillConnect responds when these rules are broken.
1.2 It applies to every Customer, Vendor and other User, including people acting for a business, and to anyone who visits the Platform.
1.3 It supports our Terms and Conditions. If this policy and the Terms and Conditions conflict, the Terms and Conditions apply.
1.4 “Content” means anything you post, upload, send or enter on the Platform. Other capitalised words (such as Booking, Job, Service Agreement, Customer, Vendor and Dispute) have the meanings given in our Terms and Conditions.

2. Our approach
2.1 SkillConnect is a marketplace where Customers and independent Vendors find each other and agree work. This policy exists to keep that marketplace honest, safe and fair.
2.2 We apply these rules to everyone in the same way. The same facts should lead to the same treatment whether the person involved is a Customer or a Vendor.
2.3 A rule is treated as broken on the evidence, not on suspicion. Section 12 explains how we decide.

3. Accounts and identity
You must not:
3.1 impersonate another person, business or SkillConnect staff member, or claim a connection or approval you do not have;
3.2 create an account using false information, another person’s identity documents, or a name you are not entitled to use;
3.3 open more than one account to avoid a restriction, to manipulate ratings or rewards, or to deal with yourself;
3.4 sell, rent, share or transfer your account, or let someone else use it in a way that hides who is acting;
3.5 use another person’s login, one-time passcodes or payment details; or
3.6 use a business account unless you are authorised to act for that business.

4. Honest listings, profiles and offers
You must not:
4.1 publish a Job, profile, quotation or offer that you know is false or misleading, including a fake job posted to collect information, test prices or attract Vendors;
4.2 use portfolio images, videos, reviews or credentials that are not yours or that you do not have permission to use, or present another person’s work as your own;
4.3 claim a licence, certification, insurance, experience or verification you do not hold, or describe a SkillConnect verification label as something it is not (see our Vendor Verification and Trust Disclosure);
4.4 advertise a service you do not intend or are not able to provide;
4.5 accept a Booking and then deliberately fail to attend or perform, or use a substitute without the Customer’s informed agreement where the Service Agreement does not allow it; or
4.6 ask for extra work or services outside the agreed Service Agreement while threatening to withhold approval, a dispute or a review to get them.

5. Payment-related misconduct
5.1 The rules for how payments, release, refunds and disputes work are set out in sections 6, 7 and 8 of our Terms and Conditions. This section covers conduct only.
5.2 You must not:
create, alter or submit a fake or altered payment confirmation, receipt, invoice, bank alert or screenshot;
record a payment in the Wedding Planner or elsewhere and present it as proof of a payment made through the marketplace;
create a Booking that is not a genuine engagement, or pay yourself or an account you control to earn rewards, ratings or benefits;
obtain services without paying, or obtain a refund or payout by a false statement;
make a payment dispute, refund claim or chargeback that you know to be false, or claim a refund while keeping the benefit of the service;
use a stolen or unauthorised card, account or bank detail; or
use the Platform to move money for another person in a way intended to hide its source or purpose.
5.3 You must not use SkillConnect to find a Customer or Vendor and then arrange the same Booking outside the Platform in order to avoid SkillConnect fees. This is forbidden.

6. Evidence
6.1 You must not fabricate, alter, backdate or selectively edit evidence you give to SkillConnect or to another User, including messages, photographs, videos, audio, delivery or completion proof, timestamps and event attendance records.
6.2 You must not destroy or hide evidence you have been asked to keep while a Dispute, complaint or investigation is open.
6.3 Using editing or artificial intelligence tools is not itself a breach. It becomes a breach if material is made or changed to give a false picture of what happened. SkillConnect will not treat an AI detection score, missing metadata or an isolated screenshot as proof of dishonesty by itself.

7. Abusive and harmful conduct
You must not:
7.1 harass, threaten, intimidate, stalk or demean another person, including through repeated unwanted messages, or coordinate others to do so;
7.2 make hateful or discriminatory statements, or treat a person unfairly because of their ethnicity, religion, gender, disability, age, health or similar characteristic;
7.3 send sexually explicit material, or sexual messages or requests that the recipient has not invited, or any content that exploits or endangers a child;
7.4 publish private information about a person, such as a home address, phone number, identity document or guest list, without a lawful reason and their permission;
7.5 make an accusation of fraud or crime that you know to be untrue, or publish one in a way intended to damage a person rather than to report a genuine problem; or
7.6 behave in a way that puts people at risk at an event, including working while unfit to do so or ignoring reasonable venue or safety rules.

8. Platform manipulation and misuse
You must not:
8.1 send spam or bulk unsolicited messages, or use the Platform for unrelated advertising;
8.2 collect, scrape or copy Platform data by automated means, or build a competing database from it, without our written permission;
8.3 interfere with the Platform, bypass restrictions or security controls, or probe for weaknesses other than through the reporting route in our Security and Account Protection Policy;
8.4 post, buy, sell or exchange reviews, ratings or endorsements, or pressure another User to change or remove a review (see our Reviews, Ratings, User Content and IP Complaints Policy);
8.5 misuse invitation, referral or rewards features, including inviting yourself or making fake sign-ups; or
8.6 infringe another person’s copyright, trade mark, image or privacy rights.

9. Prohibited services and content
9.1 You must not use the Platform to offer, request or promote:
anything unlawful in Nigeria, or a service that requires a licence, permit or registration you do not hold;
weapons, illegal drugs or other prohibited goods;
services intended to deceive, defraud or harm others;
sexual services or adult content;
products or services that are unsafe, including food that has not been prepared and stored to a safe standard; or
anything else we reasonably identify as harmful and tell you is not permitted.
9.2 Vendors are responsible for holding any licence, permit or registration that their trade requires, for example for food handling, venues or entertainment.

10. Your responsibility for Content and conduct
10.1 You are responsible for the Content you post and for what you do on the Platform.
10.2 Where you enter personal information about other people, such as guest or contact details, you must have a lawful reason to do so, as explained in our Privacy Policy and our Wedding Planner Terms and Guest Data Notice.
11. Reporting a problem
11.1 You can report a breach of this policy in the app or by writing to support@myskillconnect.com. Please include what happened, who was involved, when it happened and any evidence you hold.
11.2 Reports made honestly are protected. SkillConnect will not penalise a User for making a report or raising a Dispute in good faith that turns out to be unsuccessful.
11.3 If someone is in immediate danger, contact the Nigerian emergency services first. SkillConnect is not an emergency service.

12. How we decide and enforce
12.1 We will look at the facts and the evidence available, and we will give you a chance to respond before taking significant action, unless that would put someone at risk, would help someone to hide fraud, or is not lawful.
12.2 We decide the financial outcome of a Booking, any action against an account, and any report to authorities or recovery step as separate decisions. A decision on one does not decide the others.
12.3 An unsuccessful complaint or Dispute is not proof of abuse. We will not deduct points, lower a trust score as a punishment or apply a similar sanction merely because a good-faith complaint did not succeed. Sanctions require a substantiated finding of abuse, deception, fraud, collusion, repeated intentional misuse or another serious breach of a rule described in this policy.
12.4 We apply the least severe step that is reasonable in the circumstances. Depending on what happened, we may:
- ask for clarification or more information;
- ask you to correct or remove Content;
- remove or hide Content;
- apply a temporary restriction, such as limiting messaging or the ability to apply for Jobs;
- ask for additional identity or document verification;
- suspend an account while we investigate or for a set period;
- end an account and refuse future accounts for serious or repeated breaches; or
- preserve records and, where appropriate and lawful, report the matter to the police or another authority, or take lawful steps to recover losses.
12.5 We will not use an account sanction as a penalty to keep money that belongs to a User. What happens to money in a Booking is decided under sections 6, 7 and 8 of our Terms and Conditions.
12.6 If we restrict or end your account, we will tell you in writing, give our reasons in summary and explain how to ask us to review the decision, unless the law or a risk of harm prevents us. You can ask for a review within 14 days of the decision, as set out in our Complaints Handling Procedure. If a decision is reversed, we will restore access and correct related records where we reasonably can.
12.7 We may act at once, before notice, where there is a serious and immediate risk, such as a suspected account takeover, a threat to safety or a legal requirement. We will review any such action promptly.
12.8 Nothing in this policy limits any right you have under Nigerian law, including consumer and data protection rights.

13. Changes and contact
13.1 We may update this policy. We will give notice of material changes in the app or by email at least 14 days before they take effect, except where a change is needed urgently for legal or safety reasons.
13.2 Questions about this policy can be sent to support@myskillconnect.com.
