Food and drinks

Find an event caterer

Food shapes how guests remember your event. Agree numbers, menu and service before you pay.

The service

What the service involves

Menu planning, cooking, delivery or on site service, and sometimes drinks, serving staff, tables and cleaning. Many events also need small chops, grills, desserts and a drinks station with ice and chilling.

What people book for a Nigerian wedding

  1. Main meals: for example jollof rice, fried rice, swallow and soups, with proteins. Agree what is served and in what portions.

  2. Small chops and grills: agree the quantity per guest, not only the price.

  3. Drinks: water, soft drinks and other drinks. Agree who supplies ice and chilling and who serves.

  4. Serving staff: how many servers, and for how long.

  5. Two ceremonies: the traditional and white weddings usually have different guest counts and menus. Agree each one separately.

Planning tips

Planning tips

Give a realistic guest number and say how firm it is.

Write down the menu and the portions.

Confirm the final numbers about three weeks before the event (this is a planning suggestion, not a rule).

Ask for the agreement to say what happens if the guest count rises.

Hire with care

Before you pay

Look at the vendor's portfolio and read the details of their payment request carefully in the app. A Verified badge means identity checks and the profile are complete. It does not guarantee quality.

  • Look at profiles and portfolios
  • Review the payment request before you pay
  • Approve the work before the vendor can request a payout
