Key terms. In this document: Platform means the SkillConnect mobile app, the myskillconnect.com website and the Wedding Planner in the mobile app and the guest Event Planner on the website. Customer means a person who uses the Platform to find and pay for event services. Vendor means an independent person or business that offers event services on the Platform. User means a Customer, Vendor or any other person using the Platform. Job means a request for services posted by a Customer. Booking means an agreement between a Customer and a Vendor made through the Platform, and Service Agreement means the terms they agree for it. Dispute means a disagreement between a Customer and a Vendor about a Booking. If our Terms and Conditions define these words differently, the Terms and Conditions prevail.
1. Purpose, scope and status
1.1 This document covers the guest Event Planner on the SkillConnect website and the Wedding Planner in the SkillConnect mobile app. Both help you organise a wedding or event (for example budgets, a guest list, tasks and notes). This document sets the terms for using them and explains how information you put in them is treated.
1.2 Features are being introduced in stages.1.2 Features are being introduced in stages. The SkillConnect mobile app includes a Wedding Planner. Separately, this website provides a guest Event Planner. The website Event Planner saves in this browser, you can print or save a PDF, and you can export or import a backup file. Signing in, saving to an account, sharing a plan with other people, and links to marketplace Bookings are not available on the website planner. Where a feature is described as planned, it is not yet available.
1.3 Capitalised terms have the meanings in our Terms and Conditions. “Planner Data” means everything you enter in the Wedding Planner.
2. The planner is separate from marketplace Bookings
2.1 Each planner is a personal planning tool. Using it does not create a Booking, and a Vendor you list in the planner is not a SkillConnect Vendor engaged by you unless and until you make a Booking through the SkillConnect marketplace in the mobile app. The website Event Planner cannot complete marketplace payments or Disputes.
2.2 A Planner-recorded Payment is a note you make for your own planning, for example “paid deposit to caterer”. It is a personal entry only. It is not a payment made through SkillConnect, it is not evidence of a marketplace transaction, and SkillConnect does not verify it, hold money for it or take any responsibility for it.
2.3 SkillConnect’s payment, release, refund and Dispute rules apply only to Bookings made and paid through the marketplace. They do not apply to anything recorded only in the planner. Do not use a planner entry to prove that a payment occurred in a Dispute unless it is backed by other records.
2.4 If a future release links the planner to marketplace Bookings, we will explain how, by updating this document, before the link is made available.

3.1 “Planned” means not yet available. We will change the status of a feature in this table only when it is available.
4. Your responsibilities
4.1 You are responsible for the Planner Data you enter and for having the right to enter it. This is especially important for information about your guests, who are other people.
4.2 Before you enter details about a guest, be sure you have a proper reason to do so. For personal or family planning, it is normally reasonable to hold the names and contact details of your invited guests for the purpose of organising your event. Do not use guest details for another purpose, such as sending marketing messages or selling the data.
4.3 Keep it to what you need. Do not enter more sensitive information about a guest than is needed for the event (see section 6).
4.4 Do not enter other people’s national identity numbers, bank details, passwords or medical records into the planner.
4.5 You must follow our Acceptable Use and Prohibited Activities Policy when using the planner.
5. Guest data: who is responsible
5.1 Personal and household use. If you use the planner only for your own wedding or family event, you decide what guest information you hold and why. SkillConnect provides the tool. The Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 does not apply to processing carried out for purely personal or household purposes, but it still protects people’s fundamental privacy rights, and SkillConnect’s own handling of data it stores for you is covered by our Privacy Policy.
5.2 Personal use only. For now the planner is for personal use only, so you must not use it to hold clients’ data as a business or professional.
5.3 SkillConnect’s role. Where we store or handle Planner Data on our systems, we do so to provide the planner to you, to keep it secure and for the other purposes in our Privacy Policy. We do not sell Planner Data. We do not use guest contact details to market to your guests.

6. Sensitive guest information
6.1 Some information is sensitive and needs extra care, for example health information (including dietary needs that reveal a health condition or allergy), religion, or information about children.
6.2 Under Nigerian data protection law, health information is sensitive personal data and generally needs the person’s explicit consent or another listed condition, and children’s data needs the consent of a parent or guardian.
6.3 The website planner has a free-text notes field for a guest. Please do not enter medical information or other sensitive personal details. Notes stay in this browser. A backup file includes them. A guest spreadsheet includes them only when you choose to include contact details. The printed guest list does not include the notes. Please record only what you need, and ask your guests for permission where you can. If a guest asks you to remove their information, you should do so.
7. Exports and PDFs
7.1 On this website you can print the plan or save it as a PDF from your browser. You choose what to include. Phone numbers and emails are left out unless you include them. The printed guest list does not include guest notes. Other notes in the plan can appear in the printed plan. A backup file includes guest notes. The file can still include guest names and budgets. Once exported, the file is outside SkillConnect’s control. You are responsible for storing and sharing it safely.
7.2 Check what an export contains before sharing it, and share it only with people who need to see it.
8. Sharing with others (planned)
8.1 If sharing is offered, you will be able to invite another person, such as a partner or family member, to see or edit some or all of your planner. Anyone you invite will see what you share. You are responsible for choosing who to invite, and you should not invite anyone you would not trust with that information. You can remove people you have invited.
8.2 Sharing is private to the people you invite. We do not make Planner Data public.
9. Saving, deleting and retention
9.1 On your device. Data saved in this browser is under your control. If you clear this browser’s saved data for this website, it may be lost, and we may not be able to recover it.
9.2 In the cloud (planned). If cloud saving is offered, Planner Data will be stored with your account on SkillConnect’s hosting providers (see our Third-Party Service Providers Disclosure) so that you can use it on another device. Cloud saving is not guaranteed to be a backup; keep your own copies of important information.
9.3 You can delete entries or the whole planner in this browser. That removes them from this browser. We do not currently keep a copy, because saving to an account is not available. If cloud saving is later offered, we will remove deleted data from our active systems promptly and from backups within 30 days, unless we must keep it for the reasons in our Privacy Policy.

10. Accuracy and no professional advice
10.1 The planner provides tools for organising information. It does not give financial, legal, tax or professional advice, and any suggested budget, timeline or checklist is general. You should check amounts and dates yourself.
10.2 We do not promise that calculations are free from error or that data will always be available. Nothing here limits your rights as a consumer.
11. Guests’ rights and complaints
11.1 If you are a guest and your details have been entered into a planner by someone else, you can ask that person to correct or remove your details. You can also contact us at support@myskillconnect.com. If we hold the data for the User, we will help to the extent we can, which may include passing your request to the User. If you are unhappy, you may complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
12. Changes and contact
12.1 We may update this document, especially when new planner features are released. We will give notice of material changes in the app or by email at least 14 days before they take effect, and will not apply a new data use to existing Planner Data without telling you and, where the law requires, getting your consent.
